Someone asked the other day about top ten favorite movies, and I've been slowly coming up with answers since. In no particular order, mine settled on something like:
I'd be interested to see other people's (similarly biased?) top ten lists, to treat as maybe-recommendations. [09:32] |

I know I've not replied to that email from like a year ago. Sorry. Every time I wrote a draft, it seemed like I was saying only boring things, so I kept starting over. In summary: Glad you're doing well! So am I! The thing I enquired about got handled in the end, but thank-you for the info. Anyway, not so much a ten best, in that it's not ten, and they're not the best, but rather here's my "Some movies that I feel like recommending right now, and that most people probably haven't already either seen or decided to not see", since my actual list would mainly consist of movies that aren't that. Vaguely ordered from "Critically acclaimed" to "guilty pleasure": 1. Oldboy - strongly recommend. 2. Take Shelter. 3. Drive. 4. Night of the Hunter. 5. The Proposition. 6. The Raid. 7. Law Abiding Citizen. 8. The Last Samurai |

I think I've seen all of those except Night of the Hunter and maybe Take Shelter. Good selection. I was just thinking of Law Abiding Citizen the other day and couldn't remember the title. Which Night of the Hunter do you mean? IMDB seems to have at least 3. |

This one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048424/ It's 'The' Night of the Hunter, it seems. |

That reminds me of an honorable mention movie, "Black Serenade". That one would be a recommendation specifically for you, I think you'd like it. It's the best slasher movie for anyone who has ever said "argh, people are idiots." |
