The internet apparently no longer works in America.

1. Attempt to correct something with the Florida driving license people. "Your drivers license number cannot be found."
2. Attempt to update something with the insurance company. "Due to technical difficulties this area of the site cannot be accessed at this time."
3. Attempt to renew a mobile phone. "Your transaction cannot be processed."
4. Attempt to look at a post-office FAQ to try to find out what the intended purpose of the various denominations of stamps are - the FAQ link doesn't respond even after allowing popups.

Of course, it's not just the internet that doesn't work, it's everything else too - the driving license thing started from them sending a letter saying "hey we're going to just suspend your license without asking you anything because this insurance company told us you're not with them any more!" (Did you ever think maybe she's with a different insurance company?) Their phone menu then operates by voice recognition (when it's not just a busy signal), which of course means it just says "I don't understand anything!" three times before directing you to wait 25 minutes for an operator.

The especially great thing about this is that those four internet failures were sequential (no successful internet usage to break up the pattern) and all within one hour. [17:05] [0 comments]
