I am divorced. That was easy. I still won't marry you though. Eurgh. [07:12]

Anet
For which I am eternally greatfull.....

RavenBlack
Especially not with spelling like that.

Anet
I han't had enugh coffe yet, give me a couple hors... (Yur 1 to tak) ;-p

RavenBlack
I am indeed one to talk. Because I extremely rarely spell things incorrectly, and most of the time when I'm accused of it it's because of an ignorant American not knowing that things are spelt differently in English-speaking countries.

Anet
I would have sworn you made a comment about your spelling... I agree it is a sin that we didn't keep our 'u's... ;-p) Good luck learning Australian after trying to learn American... Aren't you originally from Canada?

RavenBlack
I didn't really try to learn American, beyond the stronger pronunciation of r's so as to be able to make myself understood without repetition, and a few words like 'trunk', 'hood' and 'chips'. I can keep the r's (it apparently makes me sound Scottish), and the words never really came naturally so losing them is easy.

And no, I've never lived in Canada, though I've visited. I was born in Scotland, and raised in England.

Nightshade
You're welcome to visit Canada again, anytime. I won't even force any marriages upon you. Tho, I'm sure if you wanted to, you could get married in Canada, England, and Australia (as well as the US), just to sample the various divorce proceedings in each country.

RavenBlack
Annoyingly, I would quite like to live in Canada, but it's the one major English-speaking nation where I don't have the capacity to immigrate without engaging in some sort of murderous deception. It had nice air and seems to have appealing weather, and good people. And is the only one of the major English-speaking nations that isn't striving to become a horrible parody of the US.

Good to know I didn't wear out my welcome last time. I wouldn't want to visit again while there are sub-companionable-age children present, though. Such creatures make my brain squirt out hundreds of imaginary seahorses full of enraged gnats.

Anet
It is beautiful a country. My family hails from there... and if the family history is true, I may be able to connect you to some people capable of murderous deception. Many countries are no longer attempting to emulate the US, we can only hope that the trend continues.

CleverFox
If you came to Canada, you could marry me! Except that I'm married and not one of those strange religious types who can get away with marrying more than one person at a time. Hmmm.

Oh! You could marry my husband! No, wait...

I dunno, I just figure you should try marrying a guy, see if that fits you.

Kilikina
You were married, how cool! So thats why your book had a dedication to your wife, but you are together with Holly. What counryt did you devorce in?

If you don't mind my asking, at what age did you have your first girlfriend? Just curiuos, nothing behind the question.

Everyone hates the U.S. and I'm stuck here for three and a half more years. Blast it al!!

RavenBlack
The divorce was Australian, hence it being easy. (Well, Australian and completely amicable, which helps.)

I was late-17 when I first had a girlfriend, unless you count a more vague thing when I was 11 or so.

Kilikina
Okay good, I'm not slow in the whole dating thing, then. I have not had a boyfriend yet either, and considering the people who are, for some reason, attracted to me, that is a very good thing.

RavenBlack
You probably are a bit slow really, but I'd argue that that's a good thing. What relationships younger than that turn out to be a good idea that one has no regrets about?

Kilikina
Or, mabey, what people think is normal, is fast and really just influences from the media and T.V. shows that suggest everyone should be like them.

RavenBlack
Fast or slow are relative, and popular opinion defines normal.

Anet
Kilikina, whatever is right for you is normal for you... Take your time, no need to rush. Make a life for yourself first, then share it. The other way around tends to make people unhappy later on.

Kilikina
Yeah! I'm surrounded by such wise people! I'm so lucky :D

Digi
Most children are horrible creations, and utterly unsufferable to boot. But the sad fact is all most all children are better company than most adults. Frankly this makes me depressed and ashamed! Oh and I so very rarely use exclamation marks.

On with the Malthusian check!

Kilikina
Yes, but children think they know everything, where as some adults, the ones I'm surrounded by(including you, so no need to be ashamed), will admit they don't. Thus making them better company.

Digi
Do they really? I respectfully disagree. The children I've known have been full of wonder and intrigue, the cunty little fucks.

Kilikina
No fair! Do you live in the US?

RavenBlack
Heh, I was about to say, before I saw Kilikina's last comment, that Digi will have known non-American children. I'm a bit surprised by Kilikina's adults, really, though - I thought it was just all Americans think they know everything. That's how they're brought up. The whole society is "you are always right, and if you're wrong you're still actually right and should sue whoever it is that says you're not".

Digi
I've lived in France, Belgium, Holland, and briefly Germany (where the kids and everyone and everything is horrible and needs bombing, again). Now I live in the UK.

And for once horray for the Prince Of Wales who's just had a memo leaked in which he says we should stop telling kids they're special, and that they can be anything they want to be. Charlie's right - by and large people are fat or stupid or ugly, and mostly all three; they won't and don't amount to anything at all, and the sooner they learn to live with this and get on with picking they're drab shades of wall-paper in unobtrusive anonymity the better for everyone.

RavenBlack
I think people are more likely to excel if they're told they won't than if they're told they will. Kids do like to rebel. Probably not saying anything either way is the best, so that people just come to their own conclusion that they can excel if they can be bothered to make the effort, which they can't.

Anet
Agreed.

Kilikina
I was refering to the adults who speak on this web site. The only respectable adults I know that live here are forien exchange students from Europe and Asia.

Kilikina
I don't know any forien exchange students from Africa, if I did, they would be listed too. The same goes to any Austrailan, South American, and (if there are any) exchange students from Antartica. I do know 'black' exchange students from France.
All I ment by the comment was that the only adults that I *know* who live here and are wise, are forien exchange students. They do not live in the US and were not addected by its culture.

Kilikina
That would be 'affected' not 'addected'. Sorry, I am a bad speller.
