Mmmm, orange juice. For a bit of a change, I thought I'd review an everyday substance, because, well, I haven't done anything interesting recently and orange juice is nice. And I've just run out. More to the point, freshly squeezed orange juice, not that horrible cardboard carton rubbish, not solar toxic goo delight, not pasteurised, not de-lumped, and not concentrated unconcentrated and re-lumped. Proper squeezed orange juice with pulp in it. Not actually squeezed out of an orange where I can see, since that's a lot of work, but the closest thing that comes ready-containered. Orange juice is surprisingly nice for a substance so reminiscent of both urine and bile, albeit less bilious than grapefruit. On the downside, the vomity aftertaste tends to make it so that one wants to eat or drink something else shortly afterwards. A good way to mitigate against this effect is to mix one's orange juice with black coffee, such that the coffee's bitterness and orange's vomitousness cancel out. The colour is a bit offputting too, and unfortunately adding coffee does nothing to improve this aspect. I imagine one could add food colouring, but a simpler solution is to simply drink your orange juice in the dark, or with your eyes closed, or out of an opaque container. Despite these negative aspects, orange juice is a better drink than anything else that's as little effort. Better drinks include properly distilled water, which is rather hard to come by, and mixed fruit drinks that include berries and such, which is also generally a pain to acquire. Drink orange juice now. This blog entry has been brought to you by the imaginary world orange juice consortium. [13:42] |

I refuse to drink your lousy OJ. Instead, I shall drink water. Water out of the tap to boot. And you know what? If I die... I'll blame you. Because I only did it to be contrary to you. |

Surely you mean *credit* me, rather than *blame* me. |

mmm...orange juice. And I don't have any in the house either. Although there is one nice thing about living in the US (although the rest of the world has probably been able to buy this for oh, 100 years or so) is that pomegranete juice is not only readily available, but cheap. It's so much better than orange juice. |

The asian food stores in my neighborhood (Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada) stock pomegranate juice, usually Indian or Egyptian brands. I wish I could get a discount for this free advertising. |

Asian food stores are cool. Especially the good luck cat statues. |

I have to de-pulp mine before I can drink it. Pulp only accentuates the vomitousness. Of course, because my mother is so healthy as to force me to use organic toothpaste and sunscreen (which I have to wear 24/7, even in the rain, because I burn like toast), I have to squeeze my own. Worth it, though. Orange juice is life. Feel the power of the juice. Pomenegranate! One of my friends brings one for lunch every day. It's like watching a dissection. The seeds look cool though... Of course, to punish him for eating more healthfully than he really has to, we all shout "POMENEGRANATE!" while chasing him down the hall, but he doesn't really mind. |

Well fine... I'll credit you for killing me. And once I'm dead my brothers will send the reward money. |

Today I found the god of all pomegranete juice containers. Usually, you can only buy it in 12 oz glasses, which are very pretty and such, but only 12 oz. However, you can now buy 48+ oz bottles. I was very happy. I also bought orange juice, to go back to the original topic. Non-pulp. I mixed it with the pomegranete juice. It's OK. |

My daughter and I made tasty juice from Ugly Fruit and sugar. The fruit's skin makes a nice cup as well. |

I don't really like orange juice... I like that one type of OJ, I forget what it's called. I like cranberry juice and grape juice. And I do not like apple juice. Yucky. I don't like milk either. I only drink chocolate milk. I am a picky picky person. :D |

I tip orange juice over my cereal everyday and have done for the last 30 years. I have always hated milk but love cereal. So many people I know will refuse to accept that it's ok to put something other than milk on your cereal though. Everyone should at least try it, it's lovely! |
