Perhaps one of you will know, and if not, perhaps you'll at least have amusing guesses at the answers to these questions: The US armed forces, and those of many other countries, don't allow homosexuals on active duty. But what counts as homosexual for this purpose?

Actually, here in the great state of Texas, homosexual activity of any kind is punishable by 25 to lifetime in jail. Isn't that lovely? |

Spam- you poor soul! Living in such oppression. ( I don't care if I spelled oppression wrong). Move! Quickly! And according to the military (US), I think it is that you're homosexual if you prefer your gender sexualy (not necessarily have sex with) over the opposite gender. |
Aaron |
Would that mean that you could be male but gender-wise you consider yourself female, so preferring women sexually would make you a homosexual? |

Texas is a messed-up place. It's illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time without sitting down between each bout of three. Believe me, I'm moving as soon as I can. College at St. John's at Annapolis, and then straight back home to San Francisco. I'm from California in the first place, but my dad's job moved us here, to this tiny suburb, just forty minutes north of Dallas, with a lakefront view. Does it sound innocuous? THINK AGAIN! Demon-children reside here, and I have to babysit them for free, because we're "friends of the family." As for Aaron: it doesn't matter what you consider yourself, unless you've confirmed and set appointments and made arrangements and stuff for gender-change surgery. What the State considers you as depends on 'what ya got downstairs,' as my father has so eloquently stated in the past. |

From the US militaries point of view or at least the air force's you are considered homosexual if you are currently engaged in a physical sexual relationship with someone of the same apparent bodily gender. (you are caught physically toughing them in a sexual manner besides hugging or kissing) or if you can be proven before multiple witnesses to have verbaly prositioned several members of the same sex in an unwanted manner..... The military also doesn't actively go about looking for people to kick out for homo sexual behavio there where at least for actively and openly homo- or bi- sexual people in the unit I was in where this rule comes into play is when a person is making unwanted advances toward a person of the same sex and a complaint is filed by said person. |

hah! your lj comments are getting to be generally better than your blog ones. Okay, on second thought, it's more saddening than amusing, but I get my amusement anywhere I can. |
RavenBlack |
Mm, it's more that the blog ones are getting to be worse than the livejournal ones, isn't it? |
wyndenai |
Ah, true. The implied improvement of livejournal was completely unintended, and, in fact, false. |
AttackOfTheSpam |
I realize that I'm an idiot, but which one is blog and which is livejournal? |
Gecko |
The one you're reading right now it blog... the livejournal one would have "livejournal.com/" as the site address. This one is blog.ravenblack.net |
AttackOfTheSpam |
Ah... HEY! He said the blog comments are getting worse... I take offense to that. I think. I don't know. I got all of forty minutes of sleep last night, because the world is prejudiced against teenage girls and makes them babysit every future juvenile delinquent there is. Also because they need money to bribe their friends to buy them mangas because their parents think all anime and anime derivative is porn. |
RavenBlack |
Heh. That's not you, Spam - house concensus is that your comments are getting better. It's the flow of new random gibberers that does it. |

Ah... the goddess of sarcasm, paranoia, and derisive snorting is appeased. At least, that's what Nathan calls me. I suppose acceptance is the first step towards healing. |
