Comments on Saturday 5 July 2003:
Tsk, by stealing this question I fear I may be near the front end of another of those wildfire propagation buggers. Still, at least it's an interesting question, and a relatively concise post, unlike the "interview me" one.

So, the question is: what unique identifiers do I have in your mind? What am I that nobody else is, to you? What do I do that you aren't aware of anybody else doing?

The three questions are really one, of course; the latters just clarification of the former. [01:42]

Stavrogin
Soft lemon drinks, vaguely paranoid programmer. Who doesn't like a lot of movies, but has a healthy interest in zombies.

(hmmm... this last trait is really a bit in common with Kevan, but afterall "zombies" are more associated with you than with him in my mind)

Tom
Bastard stealer of Australian girls from Adelaide. Bastard.

Eps
Jerry, jerry, jerry...
(I've only watched that once just to see if it was possible to have some one who had done what the topic of the day, I was shocked to find out they had twenty people...)

Well considering I don't know much about you I would have to say -
Someone who rights decent books about topics that most other programmers don't normally know about unless they are high.

SpasmodicMonk
The only person to have indirectly described me as having my moral rectitude dial turned to stun.

Digi
Intellectual *without* being like a boring professor. Don't know anyone else like that. At least no one that's *very* intellectual and still not tweedy. Please note ‘intellectual’ in this instance means something quite different from 'intelligent', or ‘knowledgeable’. Not to say that this meaning of ‘intellectual’ is in any way opposite from the other two words, if anything it would be a combination. Having just called RavenBlack ‘intellectual’ I should very well expect him not to need an explanation of the word, further than ‘I’ve used the correct word for my meaning’.

Question applied to Digi -
Can say some thing that makes perfect sense yet is one of the most confusing things I've read in awhile.

Khandi
To me, you're the one who has the politically poignant views on the Commonwealth/Empire America relationship. That includes the cultural differences (don't get me started on the 'blandardizing' of America).

Digi
Eps: "Not impressed yet". Confused? Well you should be, you tried so hard. You read all the stories on upsideclone, even the ones Raven didn't write. "Opposite of impressed". Really confused? You would be. My advice to you:
Let your guiding principle for choosing things to say be "How much will this add to the conversation", instead of "How much will they like me."

Uh-Ha? You’re assuming that I want to be liked by you or other people that read this? I have other friends that I know for that sort of thing. I also know that I will never talk/know any of you out side these posting on topics that RavenBlack writes, so I just write what I want/feel to at the time which is not influenced by others most of the time. So in all truth I have no idea what you’re going on about. (Though you’re not the first that has told me that I'm "trying to please a crowd"?)

Just to add to that I've only read a link that was up here to several chapters that were written by Raven and I wasn't aware of where the other stuff he has written.

RavenBlack
I really hope you're not trying to please a crowd, actually, because if you are then you're doing an embarrassingly bad job.

Hmm... What Sets RavenBlack Apart From The Rest Of Humanity:

In my mind-

1) Those odd boots he wears. I've never seen anyone wear those kind of boots in everyday life, outside of a medieval faire type event, and especially be able to pull off wearing them every day without being one of those annoying ren-faire geek folks.

2) I know he loves almond milk and is very particular about his diet; don't know anyone else who drinks a lot of almond milk.

3) Enjoys puzzles, games, and creating amusing on-line quizzes moreso than anyone else I know.

4) Can't figure out if he's actually from Scotland, England, or Australia.

5) Likes 'bad' movies as much as I do, with a special interest in those involving kung-fu and/or zombies.

6) Is one of the few I've met in person from the CoV group, and the only one I've travelled out East for.

Lucifer
Raven is the person I most regret not meeting IRL before he fled the continent.

Tom
Were you going to zap him with firelighters?

Kanada Ten
Silly Raven
Dabbler in Humanity
I'm with Dave, we lost out.

Jack
Who you are to me:
A strange reaching feeling, something like:
longing and fear both a once, like both ends of a magnet in one place;
an unexplainable addiction one wants to be talked out of but can't manage to mention to anyone;
an odd twinge i right under my jawline;
almost getting goosbumbs, but then they don't come and your skin feels tense on its own, without your muscles being tense or feeling streached without anything streaching it;
wishing to stand up to a force that will invariably knock me down hard;
novelty, with a slight furrowed brow twist;
and lastly, like being held by the shoulders and not knowing how to feel about it.
Apologies for any vagueness, and for intruding these humble thoughts upon a complete stranger. Now I am going to go read lots more of your stuff.
