| Does Linux some how favour ATI cards? That laptop's obviously got a Radeon in it, but I remember having X problems, and fixing them by putting a Radeon in them. Maybe "Radeon" is the secret 'fix-it' word. |

| X lacks specific menu-based drivers for the card in question, so you have to put 'radeon' in manually, as opposed to the more usual method using xf86config. Slackware, but it makes little difference. Most of the stuff I did was found from SuSe and Debian mailing lists. |
