|Does Linux some how favour ATI cards? That laptop's obviously got a Radeon in it, but I remember having X problems, and fixing them by putting a Radeon in them. Maybe "Radeon" is the secret 'fix-it' word.|
|X lacks specific menu-based drivers for the card in question, so you have to put 'radeon' in manually, as opposed to the more usual method using xf86config.|
Slackware, but it makes little difference. Most of the stuff I did was found from SuSe and Debian mailing lists.
