|We just watched Memento. About time, I suppose, with the plethora of recommendations it's had. Highlight for me; asking Holly, in all seriousness, about an hour and twenty minutes in, "has this been in black and white the whole way through?" I seem to intermittently share in the movie's thematic memory loss.
Memento was in black and white and color. The part's in black and white (which usually would represent the past) actually represented the present. The part's in color represented the past. The beginning of the movie was the end, and the end was the beginning. Knowing that it may be an easier movie to understand.
I could explain the entire movie but figured I would just give you a hint first as to how to go about figuring it out. Did you figure out who the killer was?
Tsk, it's not that I didn't get it (it was far less brain-requiring than it had been made out to be). I just wasn't certain that it hadn't been in black and white the whole time, since both my memory and colour-perception are known to play evil tricks on me.
Cute double reference?
IMDB:"Tagline: Some memories are best forgotten."
