Whorfic resonance - the effect of making silly language available, upon the writings of the user. Livejournal, with its "current mood" and "current music", for example, seems to encourage one to post about things as irrelevant as one's current mood. Things that nobody will want to read about. Of course, I am immune to the effect, since I don't actually use the livejournal, I just have my blog entries clone across to it. Current mood: Inflated sense of self-importance. [19:56] |

Oh yes, and I almost forgot; "Whine whine, I am depressed." |

I think it might actually be the opposite, where most people who use live journal want to tell other people how they feel, but do not feel comfortable enough to do it in person... Therefore, mostly teenagers (and people that haven't progressed far enough into adulthood to know that most people don't care how you feel) use it so most of the posts are going to be "I'm so important" and "Alas I'm depressed." All that being said, I'd probably end up using the silly little thing. Sadly.... |

Is this why "I have met some person or other! ZIIIIM!" was only posted to your Livejournal? |
