Tsk, silly connection-selling people don't allow the making of money while using their connection. I don't understand this; surely, usually, their customers earning money means that their customers can continue to pay them? In this instance, because it's a line belonging to someone else, that's not the case, but still, it seems strange. Anyway, all money-making aspects have been temporarily removed from service, to return shortly when I move those parts of my site that can afford it to a paid-for host. Any recommendations, bearing in mind I want mysql, Perl, the plugin that runs CGI scripts as the user they belong to, and mod_rewrite?

Given that I also want the ability to do weird server configuration things, Remarkable Hosting (http://www.remarkablehosting.com/) seem fairly good. A reasonable data transfer limit with non-ridiculous charges for overflowing, support for multiple domains, and all that sort of good-ness. Bit expensive, but the extra expense means I can do proper server config stuff. Not that I couldn't the old way, but this way I can make money, and mention it in my blog. |

May seem silly, but you do live in America so anything's possible; how about someone who doesn't own the connection making money from it? |

I don't want to cause trouble for the person whose line it is. |

I'm not sure, but www.dbwired.com is fairly good, and it has mysql and other thingies. Funfunfun, indeed. |

Configure your pages so that they only accept people's money when you're offline, asleep. How's it worded? Are they specifically afraid of being caught up in money-related scamming, or something? Would they let you put the money bits on other sites and link to them blatantly? |
