"This call is being recorded for your protection. This is the Maryland Police Force, we're doing our annual fund-raising drive, our contribution levels are $25 or $35, which would you like?" This, at 9am. Which would I like? Well, neither, because I pay exhorbitant American taxes to support the police. But the call is being recorded - can I say that, or will the police come round and beat me up? Is this 'protection' offered by the call being recorded like the 'protection' offered by the mob? Can I record the call too, so as to 'protect' the police? I prefer pusher-robot style protection, myself. "I can't afford it." "How about $20?" "No, I have $10 to get me through the next two weeks until my next paycheck." "Oh, how about $10 then?" "Er. Sure, and then I'll power my car with 'protection', and I'll eat delicious delicious 'protection'." The conversation was my wife's, not mine for a change, and the last part was not spoken. [13:33] |

Hurrah - not only an "actually I didn't say that amusing bit" transcript, but an "actually someone else said all of it, even though I was narrating in first-person back there" one. Have a prize. |

Sigh. It's not the first time the same call has been made, and I said much the same things when it was me. The only difference was "this call is being recorded for your protection" this time, which is what made it amusing. (Last time the call was being recorded, but it wasn't for my protection.) The narration doesn't have to be the same voice as the speaker. There's nothing to say it's so; indeed, there's something that says it isn't so, right there, at the end. I could have just omitted that bit - would that have made the entry all good in your eyes? Fneh. The middle paragraph, you'll note, is entirely true regardless of the surrounding conversation not being spoken by me. |

The narration works when we read it through again, imagining it as a Woody-Allen aside while the wife continues her conversation, but, without clues, it implies your own voice the first time through ("...which would you like?" "Which would I like, audience?"). It's not important, I'm just giving you a prize for the twist ending. Return to your table. |

America is a Police State. Cops lie and steal every day . You can be arrested at any time for any reason. Americas police state is only to protect the wealthy power elite. Why do they become cops? It has been stated in numerous papers that it is a control issue with the cops in general. That they can not control their own lives, so they want to control others. It is a power trip for them, plain and simple! And you hear from the cops that they wish to serve the public! Please! These people have no form of formal real intelligence. If they did, why would they want to be radio dispatched to complete strangers and for 28 to 32 K a year. Cops are the D students you went to high school with, most where bullies or where bullied. Then you have the problem that the cops lie each and every day to make it seem their job is worse than it really is! Ever been charged with any thing? Cops know most citizens fear and hate them. They love the fear they cause. It is also a fact that 80% of all Police Officers have homosexual tendencies they compensate for. You almost most feel sorry for them. As long as we have weak minded people with feelings of inadequacy, we will have plenty of cops. |
