What you need is a 486 computer sitting on the other side of the world to compile Linux kernels on. Set it going over a slow telnet link, and just watch as the compiler messages float by for six hours or so. And then stop as something goes horribly wrong, and you realise you're going to have to start it again. And watch it for another six hours. And think, "Bollocks to that, I'm going to write my novel instead". Suddenly, you find yourself with twelve hours of solid writing time. Writer's block dissolves in the face of kernel compilation. Is there anything Linux can't do? ;-) |
